MistaJam

From the gritty pulse of Nottingham's council estates to the pulsating heart of global dance music, MistaJam has etched a meteoric trajectory that is unmatched. This sonic maestro, sprung from inner-city youth club decks and community studio sessions, now reigns as one of the UK's most pivotal dance music tastemakers and stands tall as one of the most successful Black British Dance music artists of all time… and his story is just getting started.

2023 might've caught many riding waves, but for MistaJam, it was a return to raw, unbridled passion: writing and producing his very own music. In a world swamped with fleeting tunes, his tracks and mixes have stormed past half a billion streams. 'If You Really Love Me (How Will I Know)', his 2021 chart-torcher, alone, boasts 250 million streams and a shiny BPI Gold certification. Jam's remix portfolio? Let’s just say it’s like a moth to a flame for both underground prodigies and chart-topping titans.

His release schedule hit another gear. First, came the adrenalized 'Defibrillator' via Noizu’s Techne imprint, swiftly tailgated by the colossal 'Nothing Else Matters' under the Virgin Music Germany banner - a track that got the likes of Calvin Harris, Todd Terry, and Tiësto all nodding in sync. And when it came to rave vibes? MistaJam was all in, dropping two 90’s rave inspired IDs so hefty that Trick Records' chief, Patrick Topping, wove them into the DNA of his sets across the summer.

Behind the decks? That's MistaJam in his element. His energy and track selection takes the raver on a journey through House music in its many flavours, guises and tempos. His diary has recently been focussed on discerning dance floors such as the crème-de-la-crème of clubs: “Hï IBIZA” (DJ Mag's #1 club in the world 2023) and the legendary “Pacha” where he held down a residency at the iconic Pure Pacha night in the clubs’ 50th Year. Not to mention, Europe's elite electronic fests couldn’t resist getting a slice of MistaJam as he’s equally at home in the sweatiest of clubs as he is on the main stage of a festival.

But let's rewind. Remember MistaJam the award-scooping radio juggernaut? He launched Capital Dance, alongside The UK & Europe’s largest radio & outdoor company Global, and the station is now the UK's dance music nucleus, luring over a million weekly listeners; breaking records while breaking listenership records. Who thought Dance music didn’t deserve its own national station? If dance music were a sprawling metropolis, MistaJam would be its beating heart. And trust us, this legend's journey? It’s just the overture. in conversation.
